Larry Amaker, retired Inspector with the United States Secret Service, is the President of Amaker & Associates, LLC, and a licensed private investigator (NC Lic# 4066). The company provides its clients the most expert investigative assistance possible in the area of financial investigation, digital storage forensic examination, locating missing heirs or persons, child custody cases, and litigation support.

In the Investigative arena, Mr. Amaker has expertise in conducting and supervising complex financial investigations in multiple states and foreign countries. These investigations have included the entire spectrum of financial crimes. Mr. Amaker worked on the Oklahoma City Bombing investigation and was the case agent of the investigation profiled in the book Beating the System - Hackers, Phreakers and Electronic Spies, by Owen Bowcott and Sally Hamilton.

Mr. Amaker recently left government service after spending his last two years as Special Agent in Charge of the Disaster Relief Oversight Division of the Office of Inspector General, U.S. Department of HUD., Mr. Amaker was responsible for the coordination of all field investigations related to fraud committed against Department of Housing and Urban Development programs involved with the 2005 Hurricane Disaster in the Gulf Coast, an approximately $17 Billion program. Mr. Amaker provided direct and confidential liaison with senior level government and public officials within and outside HUD, particularly regarding highly complex or sensitive investigations concerning the integrity of public officials or government programs.

Most recently, Mr. Amaker was Director of Investigation for a major accounting and consulting firm which held a national contract with a federal regulatory agency. Approximately 40 teams under Mr. Amaker were responsible for conducting civil investigations of financial entities to assess the professional liability of Officers and Directors.

In his over 26 years with the Secret Service, Mr. Amaker has held many responsible positions within the Executive Protection arena. Mr. Amaker has been assigned to visits by the President of the United States to many domestic and foreign sites. He was also assigned for several years to the personal protection of two Vice Presidents of the United States, and their families. Mr. Amaker compiled more than 20,000 hours in protection-related duties for leaders of the U. S. and foreign governments.

Before being assigned to the Inspection Division, Mr. Amaker was the Assistant to the Special Agent in Charge of the Major Events Division, created by the Secret Service to plan security for all National Special Security Events. While assigned to the Major Events Division, he was the Operations supervisor for the 2000 Presidential Campaign as well as the Logistics Supervisor for the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics.

Mr. Amaker is a Certified Fraud Examiner, fully accredited by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, an international certifying organization. Annual continuing education is required to maintain this designation.
